Canadian author, journalist, and historian Gwynne Dyer will give a public lecture titled 鈥淧lanetary Maintenance Engineers: A Last-Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy,鈥� on November 3 at 7 pm in the Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre (Room 135) at UPEI. 

Corinne Chappell, Advisor to the Vice-President, Academic and Research, on Indigenous Affairs at UPEI, has won the prestigious 2022 Adult Dwight Dorey Youth Advocacy Award. This award, established by the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples鈥� National Youth Council, recognizes an Indigenous adult who demonstrates support, advocacy, and leadership towards Indigenous youth in their communities.

The UPEI Department of Music will present a faculty recital, Autumn Colours, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 7:30 pm, in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building.
 

The week of October 10鈥�16 is a busy one for the UPEI Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.

Dr. Trevor Jain, director of UPEI鈥檚 BSc in Paramedicine program, was presented with the inaugural Doug Dennis Award for Public Service Excellence by the Community Foundation of PEI during its annual gala dinner on September 21.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 3鈥�9 are Kelly Clements (women鈥檚 hockey) and Salem Farag (men鈥檚 soccer).

The UPEI Women鈥檚 Hockey team is embarking on a new journey this season, and rookie head coach Sean Fisher hopes to build something special while staying true to what it means to be a Panther. 

The 2022鈥�23 season promises to be like no other for the UPEI Men鈥檚 Hockey program, and if the pre-season was any indication, it could be a successful one as well.
