For the first time since 2018, the UPEI Field Hockey Panthers have won the Atlantic University Field Hockey League championship, defeating Saint Mary's in the final 3-0.

The UPEI Men鈥檚 Basketball Panthers accomplished many firsts in 2021鈥�22 under Darrell Glenn鈥檚 leadership. The team finished with their best record in five years, fielded an all-star, and earned a playoff spot, then went on to play in the AUS conference finals.

Each month, the UPEI Experiential Education department hosts an 鈥淎fternoon of Service鈥� whereby a group of students spends an afternoon at a local organization, learning about it and participating in hands-on volunteer activities such as planting trees, harvesting crops, socializing with seniors, and assisting with events. The department is currently seeking organizations that would appreciate volunteer help and are willing to partner with UPEI for this initiative.

The 91福利在线你懂的 community is saddened to learn of the passing of UPEI professor emerita, the Honourable Doris Margaret Anderson, CM, of St. Peter鈥檚 Bay, PEI, aged 100 years. 
 
 

The Institute of Island Studies at UPEI will host a public lecture titled 鈥淎nticosti: Metropolitan Finisterre鈥� on October 25 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

The week of October 17鈥�23 is another full one for the UPEI Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 10鈥�16 are Frances MacWilliam (women鈥檚 rugby) and TJ Shea (men鈥檚 hockey).

UPEI鈥檚 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will host a public Open House on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Members of the public are invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the UPEI Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability.
