Campus Job Fair

Take part in the UPEI Campus Job Fair on Thursday, March 5 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm in Schurman Market Square and Louis W. MacEachern Market Street, Don and Marion McDougall Hall. The Campus Job Fair is an event which lets students explore on campus employment opportunities and allows departments to showcase jobs they offer students. The goal of the Campus Job Fair is to increase student awareness of the opportunities on campus and provide UPEI departments, intending to hire students, with a pool of qualified candidates! Dave Mills Memorial Invitational

Come out and support the UPEI Panthers swim team during their fourth swimming competition this weekend at the CARI pool beginning on Saturday, January 17 at 4:00 pm. Racing begins Sunday at 10:00 am. Admission is free. A reception and competition naming ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm in the CARI lobby to honour long time swimming coach, Dave Mills. Community members who had the privilege to have known Coach Mills are invited to join. Light refreshments will be served.

UPEI Relay for Life

Join hundreds of UPEI students as they fight against cancer at the Canadian Cancer Society鈥檚 Relay for Life on Friday Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am at the Chi-Wan Young Sport Centre. Adjunct Graduate Faculty Seminars

The Department of Pathology and Microbiology has two candidates for Adjunct Graduate Faculty who will be presenting on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:30 am and 11:15 am in Room 287N, AVC McCain Learning Commons. The first candidate is Huimin Xu, Research Scientist, with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. His seminar is titled "Regulatory Testing of Potato Viruses - Situation Today and Future Development." His seminar will start at 10:30 am. The second candidate is Tiago Hori, Post Doctoral Fellow, with the Center for Aquaculture Technologies Canada. His seminar is titled "Bioinformatics: Powering Discovery From Genomics Data" and will follow at 11:15 am. Everyone is welcome.

Career Prep and Graduate Mentorship Program info sessions

Skills PEI will be on campus on Wednesday, January 21 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm in the W.A Murphy Student Centre and the Robertson Library to provide information on their Career Prep and Graduate Mentorship Programs. The Career Prep program is an initiative designed to help students (who are graduating this year or next year) find jobs in their field of study. The Graduate Mentorship Program is an initiative designed to help post-secondary graduates find valuable work experience and mentorship opportunities in their field of study. IDW Brown Bag Lunch Series 鈥 鈥淯PEI Faculty Makes a Difference鈥

Join Dr. Carolyn Peach Brown and Dr. Donald Wagner for two presentations as a part of UPEI's International Development Week on Monday, February 2 at 11:30 am in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building. Dr. Brown's presentation, entitled 鈥淔orests, People and Development in Cameroon,鈥 will begin a discussion about the role of local institutions and community forest management in the Congo Basin forest of Cameroon. Dr. Wagner's presentation, entitled 鈥淢icrofinance in Uganda and South Africa,鈥 will explore how microfinance is used as an economic development tool in Uganda and South Africa. The presentation will look both at some of the successes and challenges. Light refreshments will be provided, and a door prize will be given out to one lucky attendee!
