Grace Richard and Luc Doucette named UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for November 3鈥9 are Grace Richard (women鈥檚 cross country) and Luc Doucette (men鈥檚 cross country).
Richard is a fifth-year science student from Charlottetown, PEI. She turned in a strong performance at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships at Stade de l鈥橴niversit茅 de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, Quebec on November 8, finishing 70th overall with a time of 30:35.

Island Lectures Series features Kate MacQuarrie on November 18
Award-winning botanist, naturalist, and author Kate MacQuarrie will give a talk titled 鈥淭he Wild Side of PEI鈥 on November 18, 2025, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, UPEI.
MacQuarrie鈥檚 talk is part of the Institute of Institute鈥檚 2025 Island Lecture Series. The lecture is free, and all are welcome.

UPEI Panthers make history with bronze medal win at national field hockey championship
November 2, 2025, will go down as a landmark day for the UPEI Panthers and the sport of field hockey in Prince Edward Island. The Panthers earned their first-ever national medal with a 2-0 victory over the Dalhousie University Tigers to capture bronze at the 2025 Field Hockey Canada U SPORTS National Invitational Championship, hosted by UPEI from October 30 to November 2.
The historic win capped off a breakthrough season for the Panthers who were competing in only their second appearance at the national championship.
