From the Desk of the Vice-President, Academic and Research: Student Centeredness
With the close of the Fall semester coming soon, I reflect on collaborative efforts this term that have fostered academic excellence and student success. This month’s update highlights recent initiatives that broadly relate to the student experience:
"UPEI has provided me with countless opportunities."
What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?
I’m originally from Arequipa, a beautiful and historically rich city in Peru, known for its stunning traditional architecture, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes. As an international student, several factors influenced my decision to come to UPEI. The smaller class sizes allow for stronger connections with both faculty and peers, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Important reminders about winter weather and university closures
The 91¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÄ㶮µÄ takes the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community very seriously.
The decision to "close*" UPEI due to weather is not made lightly. However, in weather situations where the potential risk to UPEI’s students and employees as well as property, is high, the University may close, meaning that classes and exams are cancelled, and services are reduced.
