The UPEI Department of Music is thrilled to present the New Orford String Quartet in concert on Friday, November 1. Comprised of four elite orchestral leaders and soloists鈥擜ndrew Wan, Jonathan Crow, Sharon Wei, and Brian Manker鈥攖he quartet has been described by the Toronto Star as 鈥渘othing short of electrifying.鈥�

The UPEI Panthers are looking forward to a big week of competition at home and away.

The Bookmark and UPEI鈥檚 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) will host a book launch for Anishinaabe author Tanya Talaga鈥檚 new book, The Knowing, on Thursday, November 7, at 7 pm, in the UPEI Performing Arts Centre amphitheatre (Room 121S). The evening will be moderated by Jenene Wooldridge, executive director of L鈥檔uey.

U SPORTS has announced the seedings and bracket for the , hosted by the 91福利在线你懂的. The tournament gets underway on Wednesday, October 30, and concludes on Sunday, November 3.

The eight participating teams, listed in seeding order, are as follows:

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for October 21鈥�27, 2024, are Grace Richard (women鈥檚 cross country) and Jack Roberts (men鈥檚 cross country).

Richard, a fourth-year science student from Charlottetown, was UPEI鈥檚 top runner at the AUS Championships this past weekend in Newfoundland and Labrador. She finished 15th overall with a time of 31:37.

The UPEI Recruitment and First-Year Advisement team is hosting a Fall Open House on Friday, November 1, from 12:00鈥�4:00 pm, for high school students interested in studying at the University. 

Fuelled by a veteran core determined to leave their mark, the UPEI Women鈥檚 Basketball Panthers is a team built to compete for a title in 2024鈥�25.

With years of experience, the Panthers are poised to make their strongest push yet as they embrace what could be their final chance to capture a title together.
