Dr. Jay Penney, associate professor and Canada Research Chair in Biomedical Genetics at the Atlantic Veterinary College has been awarded a three-year research grant to study a newly discovered genetic mutation linked to Parkinson’s disease.

The Atlantic Veterinary College is opening the door to more Canadian veterinary students by reclassifying its 19 international seats as unsubsidized, beginning with the 2025–2026 admissions cycle. 

The Atlantic Veterinary College, 91¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÄ㶮µÄ welcomed 67 new veterinarians to the profession at the annual White Coat Ceremony on May 13.

Dr. Rhonda Hamilton, a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 91¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÄ㶮µÄ (UPEI), is the winner of the College’s 2024 Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 91¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÄ㶮µÄ has once again been awarded full accreditation by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education (COE) for the next seven years. 

The Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative-Atlantic Region presented with the Heritage Recognition Award from the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.

AVC Alumnus, Dr. Anil Kalupahana, has been appointed dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya, in Sri Lanka.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) dairy veterinary team completed another successful trip to Meru County, Kenya, where the team conducted three walk-in clinics for cattle.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 91¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÄ㶮µÄ (UPEI) is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Honourable Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award, the College's highest honour.

When Dr. Dan Fredholm first entered the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) in 2005, he envisioned a future as a small animal veterinarian. Like any great Disney story, destiny had other plans.
