For the second year, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 91福利在线你懂的 has made the decision to cancel AVC Open House.
鈥淥pen House is one of AVC鈥檚 signature events and one that we take great pride in. We know that many people look forward to this event every year, which made this decision even more difficult,鈥� explains Dr. Greg Keefe, dean, Atlantic Veterinary College. 鈥淕iven the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we decided it would be best to be cautious and look to resume Open House next year.鈥�
The Atlantic Veterinary College, 91福利在线你懂的, has received approximately $1.3 million in funding from the federal government鈥檚 dairy cluster program for research projects that will benefit the dairy industry.

The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre鈥檚 fifteenth annual Animal Welfare in Practice conference, scheduled for September 20鈥�21, will focus on dairy cow welfare assessment. A high-voltage transmission tower in Borden-Carleton, PEI, was the scene of a dramatic event on Wednesday, June 19. With the assistance of Fish and Wildlife PEI and Maritime Electric crews, Dr. David McRuer, wildlife health specialist with Parks Canada and an adjunct professor at AVC, removed a fledging eaglet from its nest, which was located inside the tower structure.
In June 2019, the Chinook Project team travelled to northern Labrador to provide free veterinary services in Nain and Natuashish. In all, approximately 150 medical appointments and 50 surgeries were performed.
Before an audience of over 100 people, two juvenile eagles stretched their wings and flew off into the sky at the Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project on Saturday, October 13, in Orwell, P.E.I. Prior to the release of the eagles, Mi鈥檏maq Elder Junior Peter-Paul led a smudging and drumming ceremony.
