Collective Bargaining

Almost all universities across Canada have collective agreements with their faculty and staff, and negotiations are a routine part of the life cycle of collective agreements. The 91福利在线你懂的 has collective agreements with five different unions (six bargaining units).

Our approach to the collective bargaining process is to reflect UPEI鈥檚 values and achieve the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan. UPEI is committed to being an institution that embodies its values: Academic Freedom; Accountability and Integrity; Pursuit of Excellence; Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and a Sense of Belonging; and Reconciliation. They will serve to guide our decision-making and actions as we move forward together.

The Unions at UPEI include:

  • (UPEI FA)
    All academic staff members at UPEI in two bargaining units, BU # 1 (faculty members, librarians, sessional instructors, and clinical nursing instructors) and BU # 2 (clinical veterinary professionals)

  • UPEI support staff

  • Employees in the Department of Facilities Management鈥擲ecurity Services Division

  • All employees of the Department of Facilities Management, Maintenance Division engaged as power engineers, utility workers, maintenance repairman I, maintenance repairman II, electricians and service workers but excepting foreman and supervisors, those above the rank of foreman and supervisors and office employees

  • Comprises UPEI employees who serve in roles such as Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Lab Instructor, and Graduate Tutorial Assistant
