Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. With no women鈥檚 games on the schedule this past week, one UPEI Panther Subway Athlete of the Week, men鈥檚 hockey forward TJ Shea, was named for November 28鈥揇ecember 4.

Shea, from Tignish, PEI, continues to enjoy a breakout season. Last week, the third-year business student scored the game-winner against the Universit茅 de Moncton Aigles Bleus and assisted on another. He also recorded an assist in a hard-fought game against the UNB Reds.

鈥淭J continued his impressive play again this week,鈥 said head coach Forbes MacPherson. 鈥淗e played a very fast and heavy game and continued to produce offensively. He was a plus player and scored the game-winner against Moncton.鈥

Currently sitting at $12,905, the UPEI Panthers Gold Rush pot is the highest it has ever been. The draw takes place every Saturday at 8:00 pm. UPEI Panthers Gold Rush is a virtual fundraising initiative that raises funds for the University鈥檚 varsity sport teams.
