The first annual Subway Panther Pride 3v3 basketball tournament will take place on Sunday, September 29 at UPEI鈥檚 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre and Colonel Gray High School. The tournament will raise funds for the UPEI Women鈥檚 Basketball program in support of their exhibition game schedule and athletic financial awards.
The tournament will feature five divisions for both males and females鈥攇rades 4鈥6, 7鈥9, 10鈥12, an open recreation division, and an open competitive masters division. Registration is $60.00 per team with teams of three to four players.

PEI History of Medicine Society

The first meeting of the PEI History of Medicine Society will feature Dr. Sasha Mullally, history professor at UNB, on the topic of "The Origins of Occupational Therapy in North America: Therapeutic Craft, Creativity and Productive Citizenship, 1890s-1940s."
Dr. Shannon Murray (UPEI English) will also speak on 鈥淛ohn Milton's Blindness: a Seventeenth-century Consultation."
All are welcome!
The deadline for Research Ethics Board Submission--new, renewal, or amendments--is Friday, October 4 for the October meeting.
Please ensure that you always download the current forms from and use Adobe Reader to complete forms.
Submit one copy of the original application with signatures to 200 Kelley Memorial Building and send one electronic copy to Joy Knight at reb@upei.ca

鈥淔ive great aquaculture projects I have cancelled (and why)鈥
How did a veterinary graduate from AVC end up as the chief scientist for a
National Centre for Aquaculture and Biotechnology in New Zealand? What is
the Centre mandate and what happens when you put a veterinarian in charge
of group of dedicated researchers (and their research budgets)?
This presentation will include a brief introduction to New Zealand鈥檚
National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research, how applied research
is organized and supported in New Zealand and the challenge of balancing
the interests and motivations of researchers (and their sense of
entitlement) with the core purposes of the organization.
